Woodburn Construction

Post  Chris Shaffer on Thu Jul 22, 2010 3:14 pm

According to Patrick and the DA, the construction at Woodburn's going to be going on for quite a while. Now, I'm personally fond of the building, construction or no, and am generally of the opinion that if we can get at the parking lot we can play there (even if we have to park across the street).

Now, that said, I know some folks aren't exactly going to be thrilled with having to truck it across the street. Should we relocate to the Lair until the building is more accessible? I'd like to hear thoughts on the subject.

Also, I'm just curious... does this mean the building's being cut off altogether? Are they relocating classes normally held in Woodburn?

Personally I like the idea of playing at Woodburn and believe that the construcion might make for some neat ambiance. Its always possible to make the renovations an IC thing with a little story around it.

Not Likeing walking a crossed the street a side. Hanging around a real construction site can be dangerous. also the construction could cause more campus police to be around witch could be a hassle.

The building will be open for classes i believe but the construction will be exterior only as far as i can tell. I vote we move more to woodburn circle area or around back to where the planters are and continue game there, I don't mind walking over the street but that is just my opinion.

The area around back with the planter is currently fenced-off and inaccessible (or at least it was the last time we were up there). But I do like the idea of moving more around the front of the building proper. And to be honest, I'm having trouble imagining us actually getting close enough to the construction to risk problems, what with all the fences and everything. Increased visibility to campus security may be an issue, but not an insurmountable one.

One thing to keep in mind is that we've played under 'Woodburn is under construction' conditions before. The big sticking point here is the duration. While I don't mind relocating for a while, I'm reluctant to just declare that we are to relocate to the Lair until next May.

Well, the parking lot itself has been made more or less inaccessible by construction. As much as I'd like to keep playing, say, in front of Woodburn I'm just going to go the simpler route and move the game to the area behind the Mountainlair for now.
